Lakefest 2026 Photo & Reel Competition – Terms & Conditions

  1. Promoter

The promoter of this competition is Lakefest (“the Promoter”).

  1. Eligibility
  • Entry is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over.
  • Proof of age may be requested before a prize is awarded.
  1. Competition Period
  • Entries open on the first day of Lakefest 2026.
  • Entries close at 11:59pm on Sunday 16th August 2026.
  • Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
  1. How to Enter

To enter:

  • Post an original photo or reel from Lakefest 2026 on Instagram or Facebook.
  • Include either:
    • #Lakefest2026BestPic (Photo Category), or
    • #Lakefest2026BestReel (Reel Category).
  • Tag the official Lakefest account.
  • If your social media account is private, entrants must send their post to Lakefest via direct message before the competition closes.

No purchase is necessary to enter.

  • Best Photo
  • Best Reel

An entrant may submit multiple entries.

  1. Judging
  • Entries will be judged by a panel selected by Lakefest.
  • Winners will be chosen based on creativity, originality and how well the content captures the spirit of Lakefest.
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  1. Prizes

Prize details will be announced by Lakefest.

Prizes are:

  • Non-transferable.
  • Non-exchangeable.
  • No cash alternative will be offered.

Lakefest reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.

  1. Content Ownership & Licence

Entrants retain ownership of the copyright in their submitted content.

By entering this competition, entrants grant Lakefest a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to:

  • reproduce;
  • edit, crop or resize;
  • publish;
  • repost;
  • share; and
  • use the submitted content across Lakefest’s marketing, advertising, promotional materials, website, social media channels, printed materials and other media, without further payment or permission.

Where reasonably practicable, Lakefest will credit the original creator.

  1. Entrant Responsibilities

By entering, entrants confirm that:

  • the content is their original work;
  • they own all necessary rights to the content;
  • they have permission from anyone identifiable in the content to submit it;
  • the content does not infringe any third-party copyright, intellectual property or privacy rights.

Entries containing unlawful, offensive or inappropriate material may be removed and disqualified.

  1. Winner Notification

Winners will be contacted using the social media account used to enter.

If a winner does not respond within 14 days, Lakefest reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

  1. Publicity

By accepting a prize, winners agree that Lakefest may use their name, social media handle and winning content for publicity relating to the competition.

  1. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lakefest accepts no responsibility for:

  • lost, delayed or incomplete entries;
  • technical failures affecting entry;
  • entries not received due to internet or social media issues.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

  1. Social Media

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook or Meta.

Entrants release Instagram, Facebook and Meta from any liability relating to this competition.

  1. Data Protection

Any personal data collected in connection with this competition will only be used for administering the competition and awarding prizes, in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and Lakefest’s Privacy Policy.

  1. General

Lakefest reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw the competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
